On the week-end of December 10th the Nepean Edge participated in a Peewee B house league tournament in Pembroke with 11 other teams.
Despite a slow start to their regular season the Edge have made strides towards becoming a competitive team and the results from the tournament proved that.
After winning their first two games and dropping a "mean nothing" third game, The Edge won their semi-final game 6-0 over Carleton Place. Unfortunately, they came up short in the final (their 3rd game in 5 hours) against a powerful West End team.
The boys, their coaches and their parents were, and are, very proud of their efforts.
The Nepean Cyclones (Peewee C Team C) captured the Peewee C division championship at the West End Hockey League Holiday House Tournament, held Dec 2-3-4 at the Bell Sensplex. The boys got off to a great start, defeating two of the host teams 4-0 and 5-0 on the opening day of the tournament, and advanced to the semi's as the #4 seed after a hard fought 1-0 loss to the Blackburn Stingers in their final round-robin game. The Cyclones toppled #1 seeded Gloucester in the semi's in dramatic fashion with a 1-0 shoot-out victory, as Filip Kuba of the Ottawa Senators cheered both teams on. The boys showed true character in the finals against a tough Kanata Scorpion team, coming back from down two goals to win 3-2 in front of a very supportive crowd of family and friends.
Congratulations to goalie Eddy O; defencemen Ricky C, Adam T, Alvin Z, Justin D, Josh W, and Douglas H; forwards Evan J, Jesse C, Aaron C, Ryan H, Kyle N, Patrick H, Michael M, Jayden B, and Max A; and all the team staff!

The PeeWee 'A' Nepean Thunder travelled to Jay Peak Vermont on U.S. Thanksgiving weekend to compete in the Green Mountain Avalanche Tournament and brought the Championship back to Nepean.
After a hard fought opening game against the Maine Freeze, the Thunder managed to hang on to victory and cruised through the other two round robin games before facing the Freeze in the finals. The Thunder dug deep to fight back from 3, one goal deficits and won the Championship in a shootout!
All of the boys showed great character and sportsmanship and we are very proud of you.
Congratulations on a well deserved Championship.
