The Nepean Warriors Atom A had an amazing run at the 2012 Bell Capital Cup. During the Round Robin games, the Warriors won their division by beating the Kanata Koyotes 4-0 and tying both the Leitrim Hawks and West End Bullets 1-1.
In the quarter-finals, the Warriors had a dominating first period, scoring three times and cruised to a 4-1 win over the Cumberland Bandits. In the Semi-Finals, the Warriors were not to be denied from competing in the Finals as they played a strong game and came out with a 4-2 win against the Kanata Gladiators.
In the Championship Game at Scotiabank Place, the #2 seeded Warriors faced off against the #1 Perth Lanark Wings. With the Warriors being the only Nepean house league team to make a finals, the team was supported by a LARGE crowd of family, friends and other Nepean house league players. In a hard fought game, with end to end action, the Warriors came up a little short loosing 4-3.
All the players should be very proud of this major accomplishment. Congratulations goes to:
Everett L., Evan D., Jacob S., Owen K., Brodie O'C., Christopher E., Matthew T., Nicholas S., Omar Q., Ryan K., David D., Justin M., Julian T., Anthony I., Jacob C., and to the Coaching Staff of Brad L., Scott S., Paul K., Ed K., and Ben E.
Thanks to all the Parents for their LOUD support throughout the tournament. It helped the team get to the finals.

The never give up Raider attitude was alive when the boys came from behind on 3 occasions in the round robin enabling them to have an opportunity to showcase what kind of team they are.
When opportunity presented itself, their work ethic and passion to succeed took over. They shut out their final three opponents in their quest for the Bell Capital Cup Championship, including eliminating the tournament favourite.
Al Macdonald and Eric Leighton were both impact people within the NMHA. Eric was a passionate hockey player who Donnie Gallant and Garry Galley had the pleasure of coaching. He took great pride in being a Raider. Al was and is what Nepean Raider Minor hockey should stand for. Both are dearly missed. To be able to have our team win both the Eric Leighton and Allen J Macdonald Memorial Trophies means a lot to their families and this makes our Raider team extremely proud. We know the two of them were out there with us.
Congratulations to the Nepean Raiders Minor Peewee AA team.
The Nepean Raiders had an amazing run at the 2012 Bell Capital Cup. Along the way they defeated Pickering Panthers, Vaughan Rangers, and Copper Cliff from Sudbury in Round Robin Play. They met the Jokerit Blue team from Finland in the Semi-finals and were successful pulling out a 5-1 victory.
Despite being undefeated, the tournament now only got interesting. The Nepean Raiders hosted the Jokerit White team from Finland. The boys from both teams were living together for the past week - and out of 15 teams in the Minor PeeWee AA division the chances of meeting their billets in the final game were slim, but they did. Jokerit White and the Nepean Raiders met at Scotiabank Place to play for the AA Championship. The only loss for the Raiders was in the finals 3-2 to Jokerit. Despite being heavy hearted with the loss - the Nepean Raiders congratulated their opponents with high-fives and hugs for a game well played.
The Bell Capital Cup was not only about hockey, but about the experience and the friendships that will last a lifetime.

Nepean's Major Atom B Black and Minor Peewee B White teams went undefeated in winning the Green Mountain Avalanche Tournament held in Jay Peak Vermont from December 9th to 11th, 2011.
Both teams battled hard on the way to their championship game, with strong goal tending, solid defence and quick offense. The Major Atoms emerged victorious from their final game with a 3-0 shutout against their competition. In a similar fashion, the Minor Peewees also kept their opponents at bay, during their final game, by winning with a 6-0 shutout. Congratulations to all the boys and the coaching staff!
The first Eric Leighton Memorial Showcase was held December 9-11, 2011 at the Canadian International Hockey Academy in Rockland Ontario. The Nepean Raiders Minor Peewee AA team won the tournament. The players wore a number 3 along with his Eric's nickname Leighter. His nickname was given to him by Garry Galley who along with Donnie Gallant( both coaches of the of the 2011/2012 Minor Peewee AA team) coached Eric in Nepean.
Eric's family was on hand during the entire weekend and were visibly happy to see a Nepean team win the first Eric Leighton Memorial Showcase.

Nepean Raiders Major Midget AA didn't let a slow start to their tournament in Kingston over the weekend get in the way of their ultimate goal. Raiders lost two tough ones to start - falling 5-2 to a fast Humberview Huskies squad, and then 2-1 to their league rivals in Gloucester. Day two was different as the team gained their stride to beat Ottawa Sting and host team Kingston Canadians to squeak their way into the playoffs. Waiting for them again were Gloucester and Humberview, but this time, the results were different. Facing a suspension-depleted Gloucester team, the boys played well for a 4-2 win. In the final, down 3-0 and 4-1 due to early jitters, the boys stormed back to win. Led by Daniel'Daubs' Aubry and his three goals, the Raiders scored 6 straight goals and shut the door on the Huskies for a 7-4 win. A great weekend for the boys, coaches and parents. Congratulations Raiders!
Nepean Raiders played in four tournaments and won all four. The most recent one at the Seaway Valley International Tournament December 2nd to 4th, 2011 in Cornwall, Ontario. The team went undefeated in this tournament. The boys played 20 games in four tournaments without losing a game. In 4 semi finals and 4 championship games our goalies were only scored on once. The coaching staff are very proud of the boys in their great accomplishment. Congrats to Braden, Dawson, Brendan, Nicholas, Jake, Tiegan, Justin A, Dylan, Michael, Ryan, Justin T, Carter, Tristan, Drew, Mackenzie, Vikram, and Cameron.

On the weekend of November 28, 2011 the Major Atom AA Raiders travelled to Hackensack, New Jersey. The team won the tournament with four straight shutout wins. As with some American tournaments the calibre of the competition is unknown. Lopsided wins versus Marmoneck Tigers, Palisades Predators, and Montclair Blues prefaced an unfortunate quirk of scheduling as the final was played against our own Minor Atom A Raiders who also went undefeated in the round robin.
The Minors played a very inspired and determined game versus the Majors making all spectators proud.
The excitement of travelling by bus, attending an NHL game between the Rangers and Flyers, as well as visiting New York City made the trip worthwhile for the Majors despite the one-sided scores in the games.
Congratulations to goalies Hayden G and Brody B, defencemen Owen W, Jared B, Josh M, and Neel P, forwards Justin J, Slavic O, Antonio S, Brock D, Graeme C, Riley C, Ford O, Connor H, and team staff Gene F, Chad G, Frank O, Chantale H, and Brian M.
The Nepean Raiders Minor Bantam AA clinched their 3rd tournament championship win this past weekend in Rochester, NY. The boys won all three round robin games against Perington Blades, Rochester Grizzlies, and Rochester Americans. They moved onto the semi finals against the Perington Blades and went on to face the Kitchener Rangers. The Championship game was scoreless in regulation time. With only 1 minute left in overtime, Drew F. scored the winning goal for the Nepean Raiders. Congrats to Dawson, Braden, Brendan, Jake, Nick, Tiegan, Justin A, Dylan, Mackenzie, Vikram, Michael, Tristan, Carter, Cameron, Ryan, Justin T, and the man of the hour Drew! Congrats also to our coaching staff, Todd, Ryan, Chris, Bill, and Pamela.
