All Coaches will now have to pay in advance for the coaching clinics when registering for either the Coach Stream Course (level one coaching) or the DEV 1 (level 2 coaching) course. You will be reimbursed AFTER you have completed the coach workbooks and been verified by the Technical Director. Please make sure to keep your receipts.
Coaches/Trainers who are doing their clinics with associations other than NMHA must also keep their receipts in order to get reimbursed. To get reimbursed you must first get approval from the Technical Director.
Any Nepean coach/trainer that takes a clinic outside the NMHA are ONLY reimbursed up to what we charge. Should we charge $225.00 for a course and the other association charges $250 then you are required to pay the extra $25.
NMHA will pay for the following per team. Should you decide to have more people certified for your team than is allowed you will be charged.
Cancellation Policy:
All NMHA and Non-NMHA Coaches or Trainers, who do not cancel at least 48 hours before the clinic that they are registered for will be charged. All cheques will be cashed and no reimbursements issued.
If you have any questions please contact: Amy Smith
The minimum certification to be a Trainer is the Trainer I level, as specified by Hockey Canada and by the ODHA. All first time Trainers and trainers doing the refresher course ( as long as their certification has not expired ) can now do our classroom traing. Please see below for the registration form and schedule.
Online Trainers Course
There still seems to be some trainers that are taking the online trainer course through the HDCO.
If you do the On – Line trainer course please make sure that you choose the ODHA/ODMHA when you are doing the course. DO NOT CLICK THE OMHA.
Upon successful completion of the Level 1 or Level 1 Refresher online course and exam, you will be able to generate a printable Certificate of Completion and/or wallet card from the Learning Centre. Your affiliated Branch/Division will also receive an automatic notification of your certification. Final approval is granted by the affiliated Branch/Division upon verification of eligibility and your HTCP certification status and expiry date will be entered or updated in the Hockey Canada Registry. IMORTANT NOTE: This site is not linked to the HCR system, therefore your HTCP certification is not automatically uploaded. Please consult with your affiliated Branch/Division regarding their procedure for processing your certification into the HCR. A list of Branch/Division contact personnel can be found in the FAQs section.
HTCP certification numbers will not be issued upon completion of the online courses. It will be the responsibility of each Branch/Division to assign certification numbers and/or provide wallet cards to their respective participants if they wish to do so. Please contact your affiliated Branch/Division for further information. Note: The number on your Certificate of Completion is not an HTCP number.

The ODHA has received many calls from coaches to get their Coach number.
New coaches need to contact the Coaching Association of Canada directly at 613-235-5000 to obtain their Coach Certification Numbers. Coaching numbers are issued by the Coaching Association of Canada and not the ODHA. They will send these to you in the mail but sometimes this can take awhile. If you need them for a tournament you can call them directly and ask the Coaching Association of Canada for certification number.
Intro Coach (Initiation coaches) do not have a coaching number, only the Coach Stream (Level 1 Coaches) and that number remains the same when they take Development 1 course (Level 2 Coaches).
NMHA requires that all team volunteers attend a Speak Out Clinic. You are only required to attend the Speak Out once. If you are not sure if you have attended this in the past or if you are unsure if you require a new police check, Jane Shepherd, the Risk and Safety director, can tell you. The police check is good for three years.
