1. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

     No quorum

 

     

2. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

 

3. Larry Ruch

The minutes to Larry’s meeting can be found on the NMHA web site listed under coach’s corner. Bill would like the NMHA to go to Contact, Body Checking and No Body Checking. Larry would like to change the Constitution to redefine the mentoring staff role.  He feels the mentoring staff should be involved in coach selection.

The Novice, Atom and Peewee groups will have the third period run until the zamboni hits the ice.  There are several issues to look into with the third period, such as penalty’s etc. Larry would like to revamp the IP structure.  He would like a job description and he and his staff will adhere to what the NMHA mandates.

 

4. PRESIDENT/DISTRICT CHAIRMAN

The quote for the sweater room at Houle Sports is $ 28,000.00 and the vote (without quorum) was yes to go ahead with it.

Tom O’Neil would like to bring the Jr. B to Barrhaven and would require NMHA ice.  The NMHA does not feel it can comply at this time.

 

 

5.1 SECRETARY-NIL

 

5.2 VICE-PRESIDENT/COMPETITIVE CHAIRMAN

The competitive group will find out what sweaters we have on hand for the next meeting.

 

5.3 TOURNAMENTS

Peter noted that there is no limit to the amount you may raise on a tournament.

The NMHA is the first association to initiate the sponsorship program for outside teams.

It is considered quite a big deal.

 

5.4 REGISTRAR

Janet has a list of IP parents and will wait for a list from Nikki to find out if they have paid.   Janet handed out a list of teams who are still missing information for their team registration forms.

 

5.5 TREASURER

Warren will give PO numbers for anything purchased from a supplier.  Two people must approve any supplies that are bought over the amount of $ 2,500.00 The only people who can approve such expenditures are Bill Vankeeken, Warren MacDonald and Gail Wistaff as they are the banking officers for the association.

 

5.6 HOUSE LEAGUE - NIL

 

5.7 SPECIAL PROJECTS-NIL

 

5.8 REFEREE IN CHIEF

 

5.9 RISK AND SAFETY

Dodie must have the team volunteer lists.  All team officials are now required to take the speak out clinic.

 

5.10 INITIATION

There will be four hour sessions used to train the instructors.  The NMHA will pay for the instruction.

 

5.11 ICE -NIL

 

5.12 VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

The Volunteer Appreciation Party is Feb. 25th.

Any team who will not remove non approved banners will be fined.
