General Information
Novice Players:
Our “Raider Development Programs” are run by the competitive
side of the NMHA. Although Novice falls under the House League umbrella, we
include Novice levels in many of our camps/clinics as a “lead in” to competitive
hockey. To avoid confusion between any of our “Raider Development Programs”
with other House League Programs offered by the NMHA, please note that our
programs on situated on the ‘Competitive’ section of the NMHA website. HL
programs are situated on the “House League” section of the website.
Week 1 and Week 2 August Full Day Camps:
In finding ways to improve our
program, we have decided to hire a full time on and off ice camp manager.
Greg Scott, our competitive goalie mentor and full time teacher, will be
filling this role in 2010. Greg will be working together with Director of
Hockey Development to further improve the on-ice program during these two weeks.
Here is brief bio on Greg if you don’t know
him:
Greg combines his love of teaching in the
classroom with his love of hockey to fulfill his personal motto "Better People
Through Hockey." Although most of you know him as an NMHA "goalie guy" he
has worked at a wide range of hockey school during his career and been on the
ice for literally thousands of hours with NMHA teams and Nepean Raiders Junior A
teams over the past 15 years. Always one to watch, reflect and implement,
Greg has implemented this knowledge as head coach with NMHA house league and
delivered skill development programs for players as well as goalies.
Special Notice on Week 2 Camp for
players born in 1999:
The mandatory Body Checking clinic, that will take place prior to
competitive tryouts for Minor Peewee, will run from 5:30-6:30 PM at Nepean
Sportsplex 2 directly after the Week 2 camp each day. Just an FYI prior to
booking your summer camps for 2010, that some parents find it difficult to make
this time if their children are situated in camps in other areas of the city.
Discounts and Instalment Payments:
Since we started our Raider
Development Programs, we have strived to offer programs that are noticeably
cheaper than 3rd party camps and that also support our Competitive
Hockey Program and the NMHA. In keeping with this philosophy, we will be
offering a 10% discount for any player or family that signs up for 2 or
more programs at once. This discount is not deducted off the initial
program and it is not possible to add programs later on and receive the same
discount (You must book the multiple programs at once). Instalment payments are
only possible on credit card whereby you pay 33% up front, 33% on April 1st and
33 % on May 1st. Instalment payments are not possible for
registrations received after these dates. Keep in mind that NMHA ice costs have
increased to over $250.00 per hour in the last year and some of our programs
have been increased accordingly, however, we hope the above allows more families
to participate in our programs.
