David MacDonald

David MacDonald, an IP instructor with the NMHA, passed away yesterday at the age of 21, from complications caused by a heart infection. David underwent open heart surgery in his early teens and returned to playing hockey the following season. His parents, Lori and Allan, were treasured members of the NMHA, who died far too young, Allan in 2004, Lori in 2008. They leave behind the two junior family members, sons Jonathan and Matthew. Our prayers are with the two surviving young men as they cope with another very difficult time. This family is much-respected in the Nepean hockey community, which is poorer for this loss.

New! Christmas in our Community

Everyone was extremely generous with our food drive last year.  Unfortunately the need is even stronger this year. We have decided to do three different things to help our community this season. Giving puts a smile on all our faces!!!

1) Food drive - to go to the Ottawa Food Bank and the Barrhaven Food Cupboard.  Please bring non perishables. more information...

2) Toy Drive - for the Salvation Army in support of Toy Mountain. Please do not wrap the gifts so they will know which child it best suits.

3) Sock Drive - for the various shelters in downtown Ottawa. For Men - A pair of large work sock stuffed with soap, razor, tooth brush, shaving cream, shampoo etc.  For Women - A pair of large sock with soap, shampoo, comb, tooth brush etc please use your imagination and tie them with a bow

Please light up someone's Christmas this year. Bring your donations to the hockey office on Tuesday or Thursday from 5-8pm and Saturday 9am-noon.
Thanks, Gail
